About the Band

If you are interested in the history of the Band, please consult our history pages.

The Band in its current form is a registered charity, number 510302. Although the Band's home address is in Slaidburn, rehearsals are held in nearby Clitheroe, reflecting the broad area from which players are drawn. The Band rehearses every Thursday, except where there is a Thursday engagement.

The present membership reflects all ages and occupations. The youngest member is presently 11 years old, the eldest over 70! Professions include teachers, students, housewives, local government officers, plumbers and office workers. All are members of the band for one reason - the enjoyment of performing and presenting music for the pleasure of the listening public.

Because of the Band's status as a registered charity, none of the players receive payments for their services, and it is a credit to all involved that their enthusiasm continues. We hope you enjoy this site.
